All our produce is purchased from top quality growers known not only in the United States but throughout the world. We pride ourselves by only purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables that will offer our customers with the highest yield available and with the longest shelf life.

Cheney Export has a produce policy for shipping that is the highest in the industry to insure all our customers receive only the freshest product in the best condition upon arrival at the customers facility. Because our unique ability to have such a large local customer base, it puts Cheney Export in a postion that other produce companies that export only do not have. Being that it is very difficult to manage the freshness of product coming from the West Coast of the United States it often puts any Exporter in a position where they have produce in the warehouse longer than they would like and really not suitable for exporting. But Cheney having the benefit of having such a large local business can ship the older produce to the local customers since they will use it right away. But export only produce companies, not having that luxury of local customers, are forced to export produce that will not give the customer in the various countries the freshest produce and therefore much less shelf life.

Cheney Export also has a procedure to insure the best produce is shipped to its customers. Even the freshest produce sometimes is not in the best condition for exporting. This can be due to the weather and Mother Nature. Therefore Cheney Export requires the warehouse to physically open 3 cases of each product to inspect to make sure the product is in perfect condition before loading. To further guarantee this is done the warehouse must take a photo of the produt showing the top condition.

Finally all produce shipments are required to have ethylene filters in the container to absorb the ethylene gas that shorten the shelf life and quality of the produce while in transit. These filters then can be used in the customers warehouse to further the quality and shelf life while in the customers storage. A final note when Cheney Export is loading the produce container any other products in addition to produce that are needed are right in our warehouse.
